: One of the most exciting and fun events the JSVBA is promoting this summer will be the SixPak Family Fun Weekend Event on July 13-14 at Jenkinson's Beach in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. : Juniors (18-, 16-, 14-, 12-, 10-) on Saturday, and the Adult/Child (Father/Son) on Sunday. Jenkinson's has agreed to provide ride passes to all the participants so Saturday night on the boardwalk should be a blast. : Our Family Fun Weekend should provide the opportunity for Parents to bring their kids on Saturday with everyone playing in either the juniors or adult divisions and then combining the family into teams for Sunday's Adult/Child tournament. : Just think of the family bragging rights for the entire year for the winners should two teams from the same family play each other. : ---------------- From our website at JSVBA.COM : JSVBA Junior Age Beach : 2-Player Events : The Jersey Shore Volleyball Association has scheduled the Junior Age Tournaments on Saturdays in 2002. Now, the Juniors can play in their age group event and their parents, adult drivers, etc. may compete in the Men's and Women's doubles divisions of the JSVBA Tournament. : This will make it more convenient for the whole family as it will only require only one trip to the beach on any given weekend and everyone can participate. In addition, the drive home after the tournament on a Saturday evening should be less congested than on a Sunday. One more advantage of this arrangement is that even if a junior division does not have a large enough number of entries to be conducted, the teams could then compete in either the men's or women's B assuring every team of a tournament to play in. : We will be conducting 3 JSVBA junior age events (June 1, July 13, August 10) this year with divisions for boy's and girls with a portion of the entry fees going to fund the Jersey Shore Volleyball Club's Junior teams. : The Junior Age Divisions will be: : 10 and under : 12 and under : 14 and under : 16 and under : 18 and under : It may be necessary to combine age groups depending on the number of entries. : -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- : Parent/Child Event Scheduled for July 14 in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. : Parent/Child Event gets new "18 & under" division : Our very popular Parent/Child Event (seriously misnamed, Adult/Child is more accurate as any combination of genders is permitted, as is playing with the neighbor's kid or your nephew/niece etc. is also permitted) gets a brand new division for 2002. : The new "18 & under" division will allow a parent to play with one of their children that are older than the 15 year limit we had enforced previously. : We hope this will encourage the older junior players to bring themselves and their parents out for a "Great Day" at the beach.
