This is a tough call. The best solution is to have them removed but I suspect that to be impractical. The other options are to raise them or leave them. If they are raised the would be completely over the court and still be fairly low. Leaving them down gets them off the court but very low. I think experience shows off the court and dowm actually leads to less interference. Interference with the backboard is usually an automatic playover so no points should be gained or lost.
